Berna Facio Professional Development Center: Revolutionizing Audio-Visual System

In 2019, Albuquerque public schools opened the Berna Facico Professional Development Center, equipped with the latest audio-visual system. Pace Audio, a leading provider of audio-visual solutions for the education sector installed these systems.

The company used cutting-edge equipment and technology to create an immersive experience for attendance at the center. This article will further explore the audio-visual system installed in the Berna Facio Professional Development Center.

Audio Reinforcement

The audio system in the Berna Facio Professional Development Center is designed to cater to different levels of users. The system is optimized via a digital signal processor for an auto-mixed system for basic users and a manual system for more advanced presentations. Pace audio installed column array speakers mounted on the wall at the front of the room for audio reinforcement.

Ceiling-hung pendant speakers are distributed throughout the room for even coverage. This ensures that attendees can hear regardless if where they are seated. The audio system can deploy an IR receiver for the hearing impaired, making it an inclusive environment for everyone.

Visual Reinforcement

In this audio-visual system, a 13K lumens laser projector on a 307-inch tab-tensioned electric projection screen provides visual reinforcement. The projector is designed to project high-quality images on a larger screen, providing a cinematic experience for attendees.

Pace Audio also installed two cart-mounted 80-inch professional displays for different room configurations. These displays can be moved around the room and used for different presentations. Video presentation inputs are provided at the platform and in the control booth, providing flexibility to presenters. Four Pan; Tilt Zoom (PTZ) cameras offer visual reinforcement to the rooms.

This ensures that the presenter can be viewed from different angles, making the presentation more engaging. Live streaming is also a part of the system and is accomplished by the broadcast switcher and streaming devices in the control booth.

Breakout Rooms

Pace Audio also provided an Audio-Visual system for the breakout rooms in the rest of the building. These rooms can be confirmed for per-room presentations or overflow for the main meeting space. The AV system uses industry-leading products for Audio and Video over IP, providing flexibility for several presentation configurations. The breakout rooms are equipped with an audio and visual system similar to the main meeting space ensuring that the attendees receive the same immersive experience.

Equipment Used

The APS professional development center audio, visual, lighting, and control system was designed by Shalleck Collaborative Inc out of Berkeley, California. The audio system uses QSC Q-sys Core 510i, Yamaha QL1 Mixing Console, Yamaha Rio 3224-D rack input, and much more equipment.

The visual system uses Crestron DM-MD16x16 video switching Matrix, Crestron CP3N Control processor, Crestron DM-NVX-352, and more advanced equipment to provide a wonderful audio-visual experience to attendees.

This audio-visual system offers high-quality audio and images which gives an immersive experience to attendees.
